Framing the Future

On Tuesday 2nd June, community members from across Bristol gathered at the Trinity Community Arts Centre to watch and listen to children’s photo research. Asia Giuliani has been co-creating photo-research with three primary schools in different parts of the city since February. They have been developing visual meaning-making skills, learning to use cameras, creating inquiry questions to ask local people and photo-walking in places near their schools. The exhibition forms a mid-way point of the project, an opportunity to share and develop framings with others. At the exhibition children began mapping stories across spaces and times, to create new meanings and re/imagine the interconnected pasts, presents and futures of the city. They will now begin developing a speculative future zine to share with the communities of Bristol and beyond.
